MaineMates is created, operated, and maintained by Steve and Michelle exclusively. We are Mainers and currently live in Augusta. While some portions of this site are not free we are not profit hordes. We are a couple just trying to make it in this world not unlike many other folks.

Michelle and I met online back in December 2004 and quickly started a relationship. Thick or thin, good or bad, we stuck through it all and found that we are quite perfect for each other. In 2006 we were blessed with a son. It would be fair to say that we believe in online matchmaking. It does work.

We created MaineMates simply because we think we can do it better than others. Though there are a few, honestly, there aren't a lot of Maine only date sites out there. I find that these sites lack the passion behind the idea. Most internet date sites are geared for profit more so than results.

As mentioned before we are not in this to become rich. By definition we barely make an average wage. I work in the IT industry and Michelle is a stay-at-home mom. Our hope is that MaineMates will become a great tool and provide others the success that we have found in our relationship.
