I was recently looking at the new Tundra's (not that I could afford one) and to my dismay they only come with automatic transmissions. What's the deal?

Have we all become so lazy as to force manufacturer's to omit this option? Option? Hell stick shift was once standard and automatics were an option. Are we as a society weeding out any sort of real control? I suppose I am old fashioned but I take pride in driving a stick shift. There are real benefits to having this control over a vehicle, especially with a truck.

Eventually we will only have automatics, people will stop teaching stick shift to their children and it will be phased out. The government I'm sure views this as a safety issue. In their eyes the less control we have the better. There are no limits to that philosophy. Remember riding in the back window when you were a kid and waving to the police?

In my opinion if I'm gonna lay down upwards of 45k+ for something it should damn well be exactly what I want.
